The Password Game is a free browser-based password puzzle that pushes the concept of password rules to absurd extremes. Inspired by the viral password game by Neal Agarwal, The Password Game adds four distinct phases of increasing difficulty and two original mechanics: Chaos Events and the Betrayal Mechanic.
Unlike similar password games, this version incorporates mathematics puzzles (digit sums, Roman numeral products, prime number lengths, ASCII sums, perfect squares), linguistics challenges (NATO phonetic alphabet, moon phase emojis, periodic table symbols), and real-time dynamic values (today's weekday, date, and moon phase) that change every day — making every session of The Password Game unique.
The Password Game is built with Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Zustand, and Framer Motion. All rule validation runs entirely client-side with no server required — your password is never transmitted anywhere.
Can you satisfy all 22 rules at the same time? Most players of The Password Game get stuck between Rule 11 and Rule 17, where the digit-sum, Roman numeral product, and year 2026 rules begin to conflict. Good luck.
